Contract Management

Contract management is a core role for a general contractor or project manager. Effective contract management starts with crafting comprehensive, balanced contracts based on performance targets and stage payments. We are happy to assist our clients in negotiating and writing contracts, from scratch where necessary, or working with third-party suppliers to modify their contracts, so that our client’s interests are properly and fairly represented.

Contract management stays in operation for the entire project and includes:
  • Contract negotiation, amendment, or writing
  • Evaluating and assisting in subcontractor selection
  • Management of stage payments
  • Contract compliance
  • Contract change orders

Generally, managing to the contract is not our preference, as it lacks the flexibility and teamwork required to deliver projects that often require a great deal of good will, collaboration, and flexibility. However, in the event that things are not progressing as planned, it is essential to have sound contracts in place.
